| Shanghai, December 1, 2005 /For Immediate Release/ -- Shanghai Biolaxy Medical Science & Technology Co., Ltd. Announced today that it has formed a corporate partnership with Shanghai Wanxin Biopharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. to co-develop Nodron in China. Nodron is an oral formulation of interferon alpha used to treat viral hepatitis, a disease that may affect more than 10% of the population in China. Interferon alpha is the standard treatment for viral hepatitis, yet the efficacy of the treatment is not satisfactory and serious side effects are common. Nodron, based on the NOD technology, has the potential to improve efficacy and reduce side effects of current interferon treatment for viral hepatitis, according to Biolaxy.
